Job Summary

Locke Solutions is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and shape the future of its engineering organization. This newly created leadership role will serve as the company's highest technical authority, providing strategic direction while overseeing engineering quality, team development, and technical excellence across all company locations.

Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers and the Design Manager, establish engineering standards and best practices, drive process improvements, and support the company's continued growth through innovation and operational excellence. This is a unique opportunity for a collaborative engineering leader to build a world-class engineering organization while influencing the future of a rapidly growing precast concrete manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

  • Serve as the company's highest technical authority and final escalation point for engineering decisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team across multiple locations.
  • Establish engineering standards, systems, and best practices to support long-term growth.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing engineering culture.

Technical Oversight

  • Oversee engineering quality, structural design accuracy, and code compliance.
  • Review structural calculations, rebar drawings, and PE-stamped submittals for precast concrete products.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Support product development and engineering solutions for new product lines.

Process Improvement & Strategy

  • Develop and execute the company's engineering roadmap.
  • Introduce new technologies and streamline engineering workflows.
  • Improve design efficiency, consistency, and turnaround times.
  • Lead feasibility studies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Sales, Estimating, and Project Management to align engineering resources with business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with outside engineers, consultants, and third-party reviewers.
  • Provide technical leadership and support across all company locations.

Qualifications

Industry Experience

  • Experience in precast concrete, structural, or civil engineering.
  • Previous engineering management experience preferred.
  • Background in manufacturing or construction engineering.
  • Experience leading engineering teams and implementing process improvements.

Education & Certifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Engineering degree recognized in Texas or eligible for Texas licensure.
  • PCI certification preferred.
  • Experience with precast concrete design is highly desirable.
