Overview
    The Electrical Engineer is an individual contributor subject matter expert within CB&I Storage Solutions for complex electrical engineering design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work in a CB&I project and/or specific complex deliverables such as power generation systems, substation & power distribution systems and lighting & grounding systems. The work includes among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, voltage drop calculations, specification development and electrical one-line diagrams. The PPL Electrical Engineer works independently with minimal supervision and may be responsible to train or supervise the work of a less experienced electrical engineer. The role reports to the Electrical Engineer Manger.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately produce deliverables per company standards and project electrical specifications.
  • Adhere to regulations and bylaws of local professional engineering jurisdictions and code of ethics in protection of the public and the environment.
  • Ensure electrical engineering design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work in a CB&I project and/or specific complex deliverables such as power generation systems, substation & power distribution systems and lighting & grounding systems are safe for field and use, with constructability in mind.
  • Assists with training other engineers by providing instruction on new technologies and/or a specialization.
  • Supports the development of new technologies and methods.
  • Responsible for providing expertise and guidance to department.
  • Regarded as the leading electrical engineer and technical expert.
  • Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I's end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
  • Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines.
  • Coordinates with other roles and functions on project team.
  • Ensures effective change management.
  • Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control.

Qualifications
  • Accredited BSEE engineering degree.
  • Prefer Professional Engineering certificate of registration.
  • Has 10+ years of detail electrical engineering experience.
  • Is familiar with codes and standards of NEC, IEEE, NFPA and ANSI.
  • Is current on new scientific engineering methods and possesses a broad technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process.
  • Is capable of appropriate use of computer applications and other specialized engineering tools.
