Job description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Child Wellness Nurse to join our Sick Child Care team located at the Child Development Center - Tishomingo working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.
Summary:
Evaluates and records signs of illness, medications and improvement of children in child development and early childhood programs.
Responsibilities:
* Meets all annual continuing education requirements in order to maintain nursing certification
* Facilitates patient care by generating and communicating protected patient health information necessary for the continuation of care to outside healthcare providers, ensuring that all records needed for this process are valid and accurate, while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
* Maintains confidentiality, security and integrity of date and information
* Attends all meetings, trainings and workshops as directed
* Is courteous to all children, parents and staff, while maintaining and promoting professionalism
* Provides a safe environment for children and staff by the reduction and control of environmental hazards and risks
* Maintains necessary supplies for enrolled children under medical supervision
* Facilitates referral scheduling and communication with parents and caregivers regarding future appointments, as needed
* Recognizes and reports all changes in child status to the sick childcare manager
* Follows provider's plan of care in implementing necessary interventions
* Develops and establishes routines for the child to receive appropriate medications when needed, and administers prescribed and over the counter medications
* Monitors immunization records for children enrolled in department of education child programming
* Evaluates and records signs of illnesses, medications and improvement of children in care throughout the day
* Assists with department of education child programming field trips to provide first aid and medication management to children
* Assists with calls from all department of education child programming regarding childhood illnesses and concerns
* Covers all nursing duties in absence of the sick childcare manager
* Assists with the check in of children at the sick childcare center
* Provides on-going education to staff regarding childhood illnesses
* Plans and provides routine care by utilizing and documenting the nursing process: including educating staff, as well as children and families
* Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
- Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment

- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
