Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support project execution across civil

construction and site development projects, while developing into a future Project

Manager.


This is a high-growth, hands-on role responsible for supporting coordination,

documentation, tracking, and field alignment. The Project Engineer works closely with project managers, superintendents, and field teams and plays a key role in keeping projects organized, informed, and moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Support

• Support Project Managers in day-to-day project execution

• Assist with planning, coordination, and tracking of project activities

• Help align field operations with project schedule and priorities

• Follow up on outstanding items to keep work progressing

Document Control & Communication

• Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation

• Track and distribute updated plans, specifications, and revisions

• Maintain organized project files and communication logs

• Ensure field teams have the most current information

Field Support & Alignment

• Work closely with superintendents and field crews to support execution

• Visit jobsites regularly to stay connected to field operations

• Assist with layout coordination, quantities, and problem-solving

• Help bridge communication between field and office

Tracking & Reporting

• Track installed quantities, production, and project progress

• Assist with daily reports, cost tracking, and forecasting support

• Identify potential issues early and communicate with the team

• Support job cost tracking and project performance visibility

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination

• Assist with subcontractor coordination and follow-up

• Track material deliveries, lead times, and procurement status

• Help ensure subcontractors are aligned with project requirements

Quality & Compliance Support

• Assist with inspection coordination and documentation

• Support quality control processes and ensure work aligns with plans and specs

• Help maintain compliance with project and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in construction or related field

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications (or willingness to learn quickly)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction software is a plus

• Strong work ethic and desire to grow into a Project Manager role

• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or field experience in civil construction or site development

• Exposure to RFIs, submittals, or project documentation processes

• Familiarity with software such as Procore, HCSS, or similar

• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail

Work Environment

• Combination of office and active construction site work

• Regular site visits required

• Fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
