Summary of Position Functions
The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting financial reporting processes, analyzing financial data, and providing support in creating new reporting structures and data analysis. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the finance team and various departments across the organization to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.

Essential Position Functions

  • Assists in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Monitors actual financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying areas of concern.
  • Prepares accurate and timely financial reports for management, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track operational and financial performance.
  • Supports strategic initiatives and business development efforts through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and investment evaluation and assesses potential risks and opportunities associated with new projects or ventures.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting capabilities. Implements best practices to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and engineering, to gather relevant data, analyze business performance, and support decision-making processes.
  • Performs ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by management. Provides insights and recommendations to address specific business challenges or opportunities.
  • Stays updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies relevant to the energy services sector. Continuously enhances knowledge and skills through training and professional development activities.

  • Minimum of 5 plus years of experience in financial analysis or related roles required.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements required.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software systems including functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling techniques required.
  • Proficiency in Power BI Dashboards, creating Semantic Models, and validating data preferred..
  • Familiarity with construction, including knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory landscape preferred.
  • Experience in the construction or related sectors is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
