Job description

Electrical Controls Engineer

Location: Hartford, CT 06042

This role stands out:

Day to Day:

  • Design and program PLCs, HMIs, and motion systems using Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200/1500, WinCC)
  • Develop control system architecture, electrical schematics, and bills of materials
  • Integrate Profinet networks, ET 200 I/O, drives (SINAMICS), safety systems, and smart devices
  • Execute FAT/SAT, debug systems, and support startup and commissioning
  • Create documentation including functional specs, I/O lists, and test procedures
  • Collaborate across teams and provide technical support, training, and troubleshooting

What you bring:

  • 4+ years of experience designing and commissioning industrial control systems
  • Strong proficiency with Siemens PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety platforms
  • Experience with Profinet, Profibus, Profisafe, and industrial networking
  • Ability to read/create electrical drawings and understand wiring standards
  • Solid troubleshooting skills across controls, hardware, and networks
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities
