Key responsibilities

  • Design electrical and industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment

  • Program PLCs, develop HMI screens, and create control panel designs to support production operations

  • Troubleshoot control system and electrical issues on production machinery and support equipment startup and commissioning

Job description

Sr. Controls Engineer - Own the brains behind the machines

Blandon, PA

Design the controls that keep production moving

You build the electrical and control systems that make manufacturing equipment come alive — and stay running.

From concept to commissioning, you’ll own PLCs, HMIs, and control panels that drive real production output.

You won’t just keep things working; you’ll help make them faster, safer, and smarter.

If you love taking a machine from wiring diagram to a smooth, stable startup on the floor, this is your lane.

If you’ve designed, programmed, commissioned, and troubleshot industrial control systems, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Work On

You’ll be the go-to engineer for modernizing and supporting production equipment controls, end to end.

  • Industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment
  • PLC-based machine control
  • HMI interfaces for operators and maintenance
  • Control panel design and integration
  • Electrical schematics and panel layouts
  • Equipment startup and commissioning
  • Process and equipment improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshooting production control issues

You’ll be in the code, in the prints, and on the floor — where your work is visible every day.

This is where your controls expertise directly changes how the plant runs.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design electrical and industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment
  • Program PLCs to control machine operation and sequencing
  • Develop and configure HMI screens for operators and technicians
  • Create and update control panel designs and related documentation
  • Develop and interpret electrical schematics for new and existing equipment
  • Commission new equipment and support equipment startup on the plant floor
  • Troubleshoot control system and electrical issues on production machinery
  • Partner with engineering to implement equipment and process improvements
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production control problems
  • Provide ongoing support for installed control systems and upgrades
  • Participate in occasional travel for commissioning or support as needed
What We're Looking For
  • Hands-on controls or industrial automation engineering experience
  • Proficiency working with PLC-based control systems
  • Experience reading and working with electrical schematics
  • Background in equipment startup, commissioning, or field support
  • Ability to troubleshoot control and electrical issues systematically
  • Comfort working with HMIs and operator interfaces
  • Familiarity with control panel design concepts
  • Experience collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams
Why This Opportunity?

You’re not a small cog in a massive project list here – you’re the person people call when a machine needs to be born, improved, or saved.

Your designs and code will sit at the heart of production equipment, with direct impact on uptime, quality, and throughput.

You’ll stay close to the work — from drawings and programming to startup and support — and see the full life cycle of what you build.

And you’ll do it while working alongside engineering and manufacturing teams who know the value of a strong controls engineer.

Important Requirements

Occasional travel of approximately 25% is required.

Interested?

If you’re ready to own real machines, solve real problems, and see your controls work pay off on the floor, let’s get a conversation started.
