Scaletron Industries, Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of corrosion-resistant weighing systems, process controllers, and chemical feed equipment serving the municipal water, wastewater, and industrial process industries. We design and manufacture innovative products that provide accurate monitoring, inventory management, and automated control of corrosive chemicals used throughout North America and around the world. We are seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineer to join our engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to design, develop, and support innovative weighing and process control systems from concept through production.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop PLC-based control systems for industrial weighing and chemical feed equipment.
  • Program PLCs, HMI interfaces, and process controllers.
  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
  • Configure industrial communication protocols including Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet/IP, and serial communications.
  • Assist in the development and testing of new products.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and software issues during manufacturing and customer support.
  • Support product integration with SCADA and plant automation systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, operating manuals, and engineering change documentation.
  • Work closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and sales to develop custom customer solutions.
  • Provide occasional technical support to customers and distributors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of controls engineering or industrial automation experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with PLC programming (Horner, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar).
  • Experience developing HMI applications.
  • Understanding of analog instrumentation, load cells, process control, and industrial sensors.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot control systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent electrical design software is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
