Key Job Elements
  • Design, detail, and integrate electrical components and systems to deliver innovative and safe equipment solutions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design complex systems
  • Size and specify power distribution and protective circuit design
  • Design and troubleshoot complex PLC-based equipment control systems
  • Create, update, and maintain company documentation for all electrical schematics and cable drawings
  • Interface with customers, sales, and management to accurately define system design parameters
  • Practice DFMA techniques for R&D and production of electrical components and systems
  • Assembly prototype electrical systems and conduct testing of components and sub-modules
  • Perform cost-effective engineering exercises to optimize component costs
  • Identify and resolve component obsolescence issues efficiently
  • Limited domestic travel, less than 10% per year
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or electrical technology
  • Proficient in CAD
  • Knowledge of agency compliance codes such as NEC, NFPA, UL, and CE
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design

Preferred

  • 2 years of experience with AutoCAD or other 2D drafting package
  • 2 years of design experience with automated equipment
  • Ability to perform short circuit analysis, breaker coordination, load flow studies, and calculate grounding requirements per IEEE Red, Buff, and Brown books
