Responsibilities
  • May include: Intersection Improvements, Road Widening, Roundabouts, New Roadway design, Site DesignRight of Way coordination/acquisition, Boardwalks/Pedestrian Facilities, , Grading and Drainage, Traffic Signalization, Pole Foundations. Bridge Design Process
  • Site/civil development including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, and erosion and sediment control design.
  • Preparation of all associated calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Collaborating and managing design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
  • Coordinating with client, other engineers, planners, reviewers, etc.
  • May also conduct code research, write specifications, and obtain permitting.
  • Assist with site plan approvals in the area.
  • Construction cost estimating.
  • Strong technical skills in hydraulic modeling and restrained joint pipe design software is a plus

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering is required
  • Florida Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain reciprocity
  • 5 to 10 years' experience of increasing levels of project and client responsibilities for public sector projects and a minimum of five (5) years related experience in general civil engineering with an emphasis on civil site design and/or highway/roadway design, as well as stormwater management/watershed analysis.
  • A successful track record of managing projects, including scope, schedule and budget
  • Construction administration experience in municipal work is encouraged.
  • Ability to write technical proposals is a plus
  • Strong verbal and report writing skills required
  • Knowledge of Florida Department of Transportation specifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Use software such as Revit, GIS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD or MicroStation with Inroads and Bluebeam to assist in project design and analysis.
  • StormCAD, PondPack, SewerGEMS, for stormwater modeling.
  • Experience with Traffic Analysis, Traffic Modeling, and application of MUTCD is encouraged.
