Job Title: Engine Technician IJob Description

The Engine Technician I performs incoming inspection, disassembly, and cleaning of PT6A turbine engines and components, ensuring high-quality standards and reliable performance throughout the maintenance process.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspections on incoming PT6A engines and components to verify condition, documentation, and compliance with established standards.
• Disassemble turbine engines in accordance with approved procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Carry out detailed teardown of engines and subassemblies to support repair, overhaul, and inspection activities.
• Clean turbine engine parts using approved methods and equipment to prepare components for inspection, repair, or reassembly.
• Inspect engine parts for wear, damage, or nonconformance and document findings in line with company and regulatory requirements.
• Handle, label, and store engine components properly to maintain traceability and prevent damage or contamination.
• Read and interpret technical documents, work orders, and inspection instructions in English to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support efficient workflow and timely completion of engine maintenance activities.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand work instructions, technical documents, and safety procedures.
• Hands-on experience with engine repair, including basic engine teardown and disassembly tasks.
• Familiarity with turbine engines, particularly PT6 or similar engine platforms.
• Ability to perform detailed inspections of engines and components with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Experience with engine overhaul processes, including disassembly, cleaning, and preparation for further maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Powerplant license is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working specifically on PT6A engines is highly beneficial.
• Background in engine teardown, engine disassembly, and engine overhaul environments.
• Comfort working with hand tools, cleaning equipment, and basic inspection tools used in engine maintenance.

Work Environment

The role is based in a non–climate-controlled environment, where temperatures may vary with seasonal and daily conditions. Engine technicians work around turbine engines, components, cleaning stations, and inspection areas, frequently using hand tools, cleaning equipment, and basic inspection instruments. The position involves standing for extended periods, handling engine parts, and working in a shop setting where noise levels and physical activity are typical of a maintenance and overhaul facility. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety and compliance with shop standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carrollton, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
