Job description

We are looking for an Engine Repair Technician to join our growing team! The right candidate will have a strong service background with emphasis on engine diagnosis and repair. The day-to-day duties include regular engine diagnostics and heavy line maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed inspections of engines and mechanical/electrical systems to identify problems
  • Perform engine repairs and resolve system faults
  • Carry out routine maintenance such as fluid changes, lubrication, and general upkeep to promote vehicle longevity
  • Replace or repair worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components
  • Deliver accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for repair and maintenance jobs
  • Record all services performed and issues identified for service tracking
  • Ensure tools and shop equipment are maintained in good working order
  • Work collaboratively with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed of additional repair needs, including projected completion timelines
  • Complete warranty repairs in compliance with manufacturer procedures
  • Follow instructions on work orders and complete jobs promptly and accurately
  • Test drive vehicles and evaluate performance using diagnostic tools and specialty equipment
  • Address problems across multiple vehicle systems, including powertrain, electronics, steering, suspension, brakes, and climate control
  • Take on additional service responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ford Certification preferred
  • Prior experience in heavy line automotive repair is required
  • Strong understanding of vehicle mechanical, electrical, and computerized systems
  • Hands-on knowledge of diagnostic techniques and troubleshooting strategies
  • ASE or equivalent certification preferred
  • Solid B-level technician skills, especially in diagnostics, electrical systems, and engine repairs
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to communicate effectively
  • Basic computer proficiency, including service documentation tools
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and a proactive work ethic
  • Comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
