Job description

The Senior Engineer, Performance Engineering, serves as an engineer responsible for independently delivering complex performance engineering analyses and operational solutions. This role demonstrates ownership of projects, sound engineering judgment, and influence across the Operations and Customer Center, Flight Operations, IT, and Commercial partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent surveillance of aircraft operating environments and aircraft performance data to ensure operational integrity and optimize aircraft capability.
  • Interpret and apply manufacturer performance manuals and tools; adapt methodologies to operational systems.
  • Lead medium-complexity engineering studies supporting aircraft deployment, route development, and fuel-burn optimization.
  • Monitor aircraft and engine performance trends and recommend mitigations for performance-constrained markets.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve engineering policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and consistency.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and contribute peer review of engineering outputs.
  • Represent Performance Engineering in cross-divisional forums and selected industry working groups.
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all analytical and operational activities.
