What you will do:

This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with customers while solving real operational challenges. As a Field Services Technician, you will be at the center of helping customers keep their liquid ingredient systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will have the chance to work both independently and collaboratively, building strong relationships with customers while representing Feed Energy in the field. Your work will directly impact customer success and operational performance.

If you enjoy problem solving, working with mechanical systems, and seeing the results of your work firsthand, this role provides a dynamic environment where your technical skills and initiative make a real difference.

  • Install, service, and maintain liquid ingredient systems at customer locations, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs and improvements to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner to customers, delivering responsive service, clear communication, and solutions that support both customer success and Feed Energy's goals.
  • Recommend system improvements and service needs by evaluating equipment performance and identifying opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and management to provide updates on project timelines, service work, and customer equipment status.
  • Manage parts, tools, and supply inventory to ensure you are prepared to complete service calls and installations effectively.
  • Document work orders and service activities, including parts used, labor performed, and maintenance completed to support accurate records and billing.
  • Maintain daily service documentation detailing work performed, site visits, and system maintenance activities.
  • Prioritize safety in all work environments, following Feed Energy safety programs and PPE requirements, including any additional customer site standards.
  • Represent Feed Energy's values through professionalism, collaboration, and strong relationships with customers and teammates.
  • Support the broader team as needed, assisting with additional projects and operational needs that help our customers and company succeed.

Some travel is required for this position, but most is day travel, having you back in Des Moines daily.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and identify practical solutions.
  • Familiarity with pumps, valves, tanks, meters, or liquid transfer systems is beneficial.
  • Experience in agriculture, feed, fuel, chemical, or other process-based industries is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, schematics, or work instructions preferred.
  • Pipe fitting, welding, or fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in field environments.
  • Willingness to learn and be trained on specialized systems and equipment used by Feed Energy and its customers.
