Fine Woodworker & Installer

We’re looking for a Fine Woodworker & Installer to join our passionate and creative team in Farmington NY.

Reports To: Division Manager

Role Overview

This role is a hands-on high craft woodworking position with room to learn and grow within our team. The Fine Woodworker/ Installer will work on highly custom residential and commercial projects crafting everything from wood doors, tables, and stairs to cabinets, furniture, and wine rooms, working both locally and regionally, which can mean occasional travel or longer commutes.

This role is part of a team that will perform both shop oriented and on-site setups and woodworking installations and will help us to complete projects within designated timelines. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, and a personality that can collaborate as part of a group, adhere to industry best practices, and meet client expectations.

Core Competencies

  • Fine woodworking skills to manufacture high-craft wood products.
  • Proficiency with hand tools.
  • Use shop machinery and equipment as necessary to complete job.
  • Set up, run, and maintain woodworking equipment and machines.
  • Sand items using sandpaper after cutting, shaping, and smoothing wooden parts.
  • Finish all phases of the woodworking production process.
  • Color/stain/treat raw wood.
  • Finish furniture, cabinets, and other wood products.
  • Ability to determine/find defects in the wood.

Required Experience

  • 2 or more years’ experience in a woodworking shop or residential construction.
  • Experience in Bench Carpentry, Cabinet Making or Furniture Making.
  • Background in Fine Arts or Industrial Design.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Excellent math and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with industrial woodworking tools.
  • Experience in Bench Carpentry, Cabinet Making or Furniture Making.
  • Installation experience with Doors/Cabs/Stairs preferred.
  • Background in Trades, Fine Arts or Industrial Design.

Safety & Compliance

  • Must comply with all New Energy Works safety protocols, policies, and code of conduct.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by manager.

For Pay Transparency: Compensation Description (annually or hourly): Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
