Position Overview:

Collect and configure data from water, gas, and electricity consumption to identify opportunities for sustainability reductions within our processes while aligning to Ball’s sustainability goal.

Key Areas of Responsibility Include:
  • Align global and regional sustainability teams for a common approach to process standardization, sustainable audits and templates, and reporting.
  • Support sustainability trials, new equipment utilization and the deployment of sustainable solutions to existing equipment as it relates to equipment upgrades.
  • Understands and supports the management of sustainable solutions, modelling energy/water savings and financial impacts.
  • Uses lean and 6 sigma, or similar analytical techniques to model and identify cost savings across our plants to implement and improve sustainable business process.
  • Develop and maintain globally aligned templates for a reduction of energy requirements in can making process that aligns with Ball’s 2030 targets.
  • Supports the development of equipment specifications relating to energy targets.
  • Support review between Ball and OEMs for new equipment offerings and process developments to ensure they meet or exceed established equipment sustainability targets per Ball’s specifications.
  • Maintains an awareness of technical progress in materials, support areas, and production equipment. Initiates technical meetings to review problems and seek improvements to document, align and deploy globally.
  • Liaison and technical support to other disciplines: manufacturing, project, process, and product engineering, sales & marketing, quality, EH&S, and sourcing.
  • Identified as a subject matter expert with regards to data collection for gas, water and electrical usage.
  • Understands and implements global standards that lead to the best-in-class electricity, natural gas, water, and waste generation/remediation.
  • Supports global and regional sustainability engineering stakeholders in the pursuit and adoption of best-in-class electricity, natural gas, and water usage.
Skills and Expereince:
  • At least two years industry-related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Highly skilled in the use of a computer and the standard suite of Office tools.
  • Must be prepared to work towards and then maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.
  • Handles sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
  • Ability to work independently within parameters set by management. Assignments may be self-initiated. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Contributes to group discussions.
  • Practices attentive and active listening; has the patience to hear people out; can accurately restate the opinions of others even when he/she disagrees.
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
  • Expected Hiring Salary Range:$75,400 - $105,290 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
