An Energy Components job typically involves working with Energy Components (EC), a software solution used in the oil and gas industry for hydrocarbon accounting, production management, and revenue allocation. Professionals in this role configure, maintain, and optimize the EC system to ensure accurate tracking of production data and compliance with industry regulations. They may collaborate with engineers, IT teams, and business analysts to integrate EC with other enterprise systems. Strong technical skills, domain knowledge, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this position.
As an Energy Components Specialist, your typical day involves managing and analyzing production data, ensuring the accuracy of reporting, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to integrate data systems, troubleshoot issues, and optimize workflows in energy management software. The role frequently requires clear communication with multiple departments to streamline data exchange and support decision-making. This collaborative environment provides opportunities to refine technical skills and gain experience across multiple facets of the energy industry.
To thrive as an Energy Components Specialist, you need a strong understanding of energy sector operations, data analysis, and systems integration, typically supported by an engineering or technical degree and related industry experience. Proficiency with software solutions such as Energy Components by TietoEVRY, SQL, and production data management tools is highly valued, along with relevant certifications in energy management systems. Strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and teamwork are important soft skills that enhance effectiveness in cross-functional environments. These skills ensure accurate data handling, compliance, and efficient collaboration, which are all crucial for optimizing energy production and reporting processes.

Energy Components Technical Systems Expert
Houston, TX | Onsite | 12+ Month Contract
iSphere is looking for an Energy Components Technical Systems Expert who's seen the platform from every angle. Administration. Development. Support. Troubleshooting. Configuration. If you've been the person everyone called when Energy Components wasn't behaving, we'd like to talk.
This is a hands-on role supporting a critical Midstream environment built around Energy Components (now Quorum, formerly Tieto). The team is looking for someone who can take ownership of the platform, support the business, and help keep operations running smoothly while partnering with both technical and functional teams.
What they're really looking for:
• Deep, hands-on experience with Energy Components (Quorum / formerly Tieto Energy Components)
• Strong administration, development, configuration, and production support experience
• Expertise supporting Hydrocarbon Management and Hydrocarbon Accounting modules
• Experience troubleshooting complex application and integration issues
• Ability to work directly with business users to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions
• Experience supporting system enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance
• Strong SQL and database skills are highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across both business and IT teams
You'll spend your time supporting the Energy Components platform, resolving production issues, implementing enhancements, configuring the application to meet business needs, and working with Operations, Accounting, and IT to ensure the system continues to support critical midstream processes.
The right person for this role doesn't need a manual to figure out where to start. They understand how Energy Components works behind the scenes, know how hydrocarbon accounting impacts the business, and can quickly separate a configuration issue from a data issue or an application problem.
If you've built your career around Energy Components and enjoy being the go-to expert for one of the industry's leading hydrocarbon management platforms, this is an opportunity to put that expertise to work on a long-term engagement.
