What is an endovascular specialist?

Endovascular specialists are medical professionals, often interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, or cardiologists, who are trained to diagnose and treat diseases of the blood vessels using minimally invasive, image-guided techniques. They perform procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, and the management of aneurysms without the need for large surgical incisions. These treatments often result in shorter recovery times, less pain, and reduced risk compared to traditional open surgery. Endovascular specialists work closely with other healthcare providers to manage conditions like peripheral artery disease, deep vein thrombosis, and carotid artery disease.

What are some common challenges faced by endovascular specialists in a multidisciplinary hospital setting?

Endovascular specialists often work closely with radiologists, vascular surgeons, and cardiologists, which requires strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate patient care. A common challenge is managing complex cases where quick decision-making is essential, especially during minimally invasive procedures. Balancing a demanding caseload with the need to stay current on evolving technologies and best practices is another aspect of the role. Additionally, endovascular specialists must adapt to varying workflow patterns in hospitals, including on-call shifts and emergency interventions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an endovascular specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Endovascular Specialist, you need in-depth knowledge of vascular anatomy, interventional procedures, and a relevant medical degree with board certification in vascular surgery, radiology, or cardiology. Familiarity with imaging modalities (like fluoroscopy, CT angiography), catheter-based devices, and specialized surgical instruments is crucial. Strong hand-eye coordination, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help you excel in patient care and multidisciplinary teamwork. These skills and qualifications are vital for ensuring procedural safety, optimal patient outcomes, and efficient collaboration in high-stakes clinical settings.

What is the difference between Endovascular vs Interventional Radiologist?

Work EnvironmentHospitals, specialized clinics, outpatient centersHospitals, outpatient centers, diagnostic imaging centers
Job FocusMinimally invasive vascular procedures, aneurysm repair, stent placementsDiagnostic imaging, minimally invasive procedures across various specialties
Common UsageUsed in vascular and endovascular surgery contextsUsed broadly in diagnostic and interventional radiology

Endovascular specialists focus on minimally invasive vascular procedures, often requiring vascular surgery or radiology certifications. Interventional radiologists perform a wider range of minimally invasive procedures using imaging guidance, with a broader scope in diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Both roles work in hospital settings and utilize advanced imaging technology, but their specific focus and certifications differ slightly.

We are on a mission to revolutionize endovascular procedures with the LIBERTY® Endovascular Robotic System, a single-use and fully disposable robotic system for endovascular procedures. The endovascular market is one of the largest markets with clear unmet needs, but still with minimal penetration of robotics. LIBERTY® Endovascular Robotic System aims to revolutionize the robotics marketplace by overcoming obstacles that hinder the adoption of other robotic systems, such as eliminating the large capital expense, creating a system intended to be easy to use, enabling a short learning curve, and having the potential to address the unmet needs for all stakeholders.
Why You Should Join Us
Microbot Medical is seeking Endovascular Account Associates to support the commercialization and adoption of the LIBERTY® Endovascular Robotic System across assigned territories.
This role will work closely with Area Sales Managers and Regional Sales Leadership to provide procedural support, educate clinical teams, build customer relationships, drive product adoption, and support revenue growth within hospitals and healthcare systems.

What You'll Do
As an Endovascular Account Associate you will:
    • Provide in-room technical support during endovascular procedures to ensure successful case execution, system performance, and physician satisfaction
    • Partner with Area Sales Managers and Regional Sales Directors to identify opportunities, support demonstrations, and advance the sales cycle
    • Build and maintain relationships with physicians, surgeons, hospital administrators, technicians, schedulers, supply chain teams, and clinical stakeholders
    • Drive adoption and utilization of the LIBERTY® Endovascular Robotic System within assigned accounts
    • Support customer onboarding, product education, troubleshooting, and ongoing account management
    • Train clinical teams on system setup, instrumentation, workflow integration, and safe product use
    • Identify opportunities for account growth and expansion within healthcare systems
    • Track territory activity, pipeline progression, customer engagement, and account performance through CRM systems
    • Gather customer feedback and procedural insights to support commercial strategy and product improvement
    • Collaborate with Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Professional Education, and Sales teams to support market expansion
    • Attend conferences, robotics labs, physician training programs, tradeshows, and key opinion leader engagements
    • Maintain knowledge of company products, competitive technologies, healthcare regulations, and industry trends
    • Meet quarterly goals related to case volume, utilization, and territory growth
    • Demonstrate the clinical and commercial value of the LIBERTY® Endovascular Robotic System

What You'll Need
    • Bachelor's degree required; preferred backgrounds include Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Kinesiology, Business, or related fields
    • Candidates must have one of the following:
      • Light medical device or pharmaceutical sales experience
      • Medical device clinical support experience
      • Hospital clinical experience (OR Nurse, Cath Lab Technician, ER Nurse, RT, Charge Nurse, etc.)
    • Experience supporting cases in the OR, Cath Lab, or Interventional Radiology preferred
    • Experience with disposable medical technologies, robotics, minimally invasive procedures, or vascular/interventional specialties preferred
    • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, anatomy, and procedural environments
    • Ability to build relationships with physicians and hospital stakeholders
    • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to succeed in fast-paced surgical environments
    • Experience with or ability to learn CRM systems
    • Must meet hospital credentialing and vendor compliance requirements
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
    • Ability to travel 50-60% within assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel

    • Target Compensation: ~$130K with additional upside potential through a regional performance-based incentive
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k) program
    • Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing product training
    • Opportunity to help shape the future of robotic-assisted endovascular care
