Job description

Job Title: GI/Endoscopy Tech
Unit: GI Lab 
Location: Mission Hills, CA 
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 4x10-hour Day Shifts (07:00 - 17:30)
Call Requirements: Every other weekend + one weekday call/week (5:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $53/hr (W2) | $56/hr (1099)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled GI/Endoscopy Tech to join its Surgical Services team. The role focuses on providing critical support in GI and endoscopy procedures, patient prep, scope handling, and instrument care within both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience: 1 year in GI/Endoscopy
  • Certifications: BLS, LA City Fire Card (Required); SGNA (Preferred)
  • Call Coverage: Required every other weekend with 30-minute response time
  • Licensure: Active and current license required at submission (no pending)

Key Skills & Duties:
  • Assist in advanced GI procedures:
    • EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, EBUS, Bronchs
    • PEG/GJ placements, Spyglass, Double Balloon Enteroscopy
  • Scope and equipment handling, including:
    • Cleaning, disinfection (HLD), and maintenance
    • Use of ERBE, EHL, Fujifilm Ultrasound, Medivators
  • Procedural Support:
    • Biopsies, dilation, polyp removal, foreign body retrieval
    • Specimen handling and infection control compliance
  • Equipment: Forceps, snares, bronchoscopes, enteroscopes, etc.
  • Documentation & protocols: Familiarity with Provation, Epic (preferred), and Universal Protocol (time-out)

Work Environment:
  • Facility Type: Acute Care, Magnet-Designated Hospital
  • Total Beds: 377
  • Scrubs: Any color (OR and L&D provided)
  • Patient Population: Adults only
  • Unit Setting: Inpatient, outpatient endoscopy center, and bedside cases
  • Orientation: 40 hours, non-billable
