Job description

Exciting Opportunity for a GI Hospitalist in South Carolina

Our organization is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist for an inpatient-only role within a well-established GI program. This position operates on a 7 on, 7 off schedule, allowing the physician to work every other week from Monday to Monday, focusing solely on inpatient cases and procedures.

This role will enhance our long-standing General and Advanced GI program located in Florence, SC. We serve as the primary provider of advanced and general gastroenterology services for approximately 1 million patients across the Midlands to the Coast of North and South Carolina. Our commitment to Gastroenterology is evident through our expansive Endoscopy lab, which features numerous general and advanced procedure rooms, supported by dedicated Anesthesiologists and CRNAs. Additionally, we offer specialized GI space in the operating room.

Key Features of the Position:

  • Support from 8 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) for both hospital and office settings, available 7 days a week
  • APPs handle first call responsibilities
  • Locum coverage provided for most weekends and holidays

This role involves providing 7 days of inpatient services, with 10 hours on-site and 14 hours of unrestricted call coverage each day. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in focusing exclusively on inpatient work, including hospital patients and emergency room consultations. The position comes with benefits such as paid malpractice insurance, a CME allowance, sign-on bonuses, competitive salary, and comprehensive health and retirement benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Completion of an Internal Medicine Residency, board eligible or board certified
  • Completion of a Gastroenterology Fellowship, board eligible or board certified. New graduates are welcome to apply.
