Job Description
MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Endoscopy Technician plays a key role in supporting gastrointestinal procedures by assisting clinical staff, preparing, and maintaining procedure rooms and equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role is responsible for the proper cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of endoscopes, performing equipment safety checks, and adhering to all infection control standards and healthcare regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a formal Endoscopy Technician, Surgical Technician, or Sterile Processing program preferred.
  • Prior experience in endoscopy, sterile processing, or a related clinical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and endoscope reprocessing standards are highly desirable.

Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) and Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (FER), or equivalent certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety protocols.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
