Endevor administrators or developers work on version control, release management, and workflow automation for COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe-related code. Responsibilities may include configuring Endevor environments, maintaining element life cycles, and ensuring compliance with change management policies. Knowledge of mainframe technologies, including TSO, ISPF, and REXX, is often required.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Endevor Administrator, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Endevor Administrator, you need a solid understanding of mainframe environments, software configuration management, and strong knowledge of IBM z/OS and CA Endevor. Familiarity with JCL, COBOL, ISPF, and tools like TSO/ISPF, along with certifications in mainframe or DevOps practices, is often required. Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills help in troubleshooting issues and coordinating with development teams. These capabilities are crucial for maintaining software version control, ensuring process integrity, and supporting efficient development cycles in enterprise environments.
