Job description

Lineage builds state-of-the-art systems to make our employees productive, to meet and exceed our customers' expectations, to assist in our growth, and to create an operating platform that enables Lineage to achieve its vision of transforming the global food supply chain. Lineage leverages cloud services, best-of-breed technologies, and external teams to augment our capabilities with sufficient capacity. This means that in addition to being a great engineer, an ideal candidate will need to be able to collaborate with others - both internal and external - to ensure that we are collectively able to deliver projects in support of Lineage's company goals.
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for the design, automation, and ongoing management of Microsoft 365 platforms with a primary focus on Intune and Microsoft Graph API. The engineer will develop, maintain, and optimize robust automation solutions using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph SDK, and related tools to streamline device management, app deployment, policy enforcement, and configuration across the M365 tenant. Secondary responsibilities include governance and administration of collaboration tools such as SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise in Intune and Graph API automation with strong troubleshooting, planning, and documentation skills, while effectively communicating complex information to all audiences. This position requires close collaboration with other IT teams to ensure a stable, secure, and efficient end-user environment and demands a proactive self-starter who can independently own the M365 automation function within the Infrastructure Engineering & Operations organization, escalating issues only when necessary.
Primary Responsibilities
  • M365 Collaboration Platform Administration & Configuration: Design, deploy, configure, and manage SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists, metadata, retention policies, and modern experiences. Administer OneDrive for Business (storage quotas, sync policies, Known Folder Move, sharing, multi-geo). Own the full lifecycle of Microsoft Teams including teams, channels, templates, apps, tabs, meetings, and live events with seamless integration to SharePoint and OneDrive.

  • Automation & Scripting: Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts using Microsoft Graph, SharePoint PnP, Microsoft Teams, and Exchange Online modules to automate provisioning, permission management, bulk operations, reporting, and configuration drift remediation. Build and document reusable automation frameworks for site/Teams provisioning, OneDrive migrations, and policy enforcement. Create monitoring scripts and scheduled jobs for proactive issue identification and resolution.

  • Governance, Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce governance, security, and compliance controls across SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams (DLP, sensitivity labels, retention, eDiscovery, Conditional Access, etc.).

  • Integration & Optimization: Integrate SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams with other Microsoft 365 services (Entra ID, Intune, Purview, Power Platform, Viva, etc.) and approved third-party applications. Leverage Microsoft Intune for secure device and app management policies supporting collaboration workloads.

  • Technical Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to authentication, permissions, sync, performance, and user experience across the M365 collaboration stack. Provide guidance and hands-on support during escalations.

  • Migrations & Project Support: Plan and execute content migrations (on-premises SharePoint/File shares to SharePoint Online/OneDrive/Teams) with minimal disruption. Contribute to M365-related projects, including new deployments, upgrades, and optimizations.

  • Documentation & Process Improvement: Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, automations, issues, and changes. Identify opportunities to optimize workflows, propose efficiency improvements, and enhance overall M365 reliability and user experience.

  • Collaboration & Vendor Management: Work closely with other IT teams (Security, Identity, End User Computing, etc.) to ensure smooth integration and handover of solutions. Hold Microsoft and other vendors accountable for SLA and technical delivery.

Education and Work Experience
  • 5-8+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft 365 administration with a strong emphasis on automation and collaboration services (SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams).

  • Proven track record developing and maintaining PowerShell-based automation in enterprise M365 environments.

  • Technical certifications such as MS-102, MS-301, or equivalent Microsoft 365 certifications are highly desirable.

  • Experience working in global or large-scale organizations with complex M365 deployments.

  • Working knowledge of ITIL principles related to incident, problem, change, and service management.

  • Experience with content migration tools (ShareGate, AvePoint, Microsoft Migration Manager, etc.).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 collaboration architecture, including deep interdependencies between SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, licensing models, Conditional Access, Microsoft Purview, and Intune policies as they relate to collaboration services.

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph SDK for automation, reporting, and bulk operations (mandatory).

  • Hands-on experience with M365 governance frameworks, information architecture, records management, and compliance features.

  • Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills across authentication, permissions, performance, and sync issues.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
