EMT Hourly Skills Support

This part-time, hourly position supports the EMT instructor on an as-needed basis, providing hands-on instruction, skill development, and reinforcement to students enrolled in the EMT program at CATEC.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Deliver lab instruction and skill-based assessments aligned with the EMT curriculum
  2. Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to support mastery of skills
  3. Maintain accurate documentation of student competencies and attendance
  4. Ensure compliance with Virginia OEMS and program accreditation standards
  5. Collaborate with the instructor to support student success
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  7. Ability to use instructional technologies
  8. Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
  9. Current EMS certification
  10. Familiarity with the National EMS Education Standards

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong knowledge of EMT course content and emergency medical protocols
  2. Effective instructional and communication skills
  3. Ability to assess student learning and provide constructive feedback
  4. Familiarity with the National EMS Education Standards and VA OEMS regulations
  5. Professionalism and a commitment to student-centered instruction

Qualifications:

  • Current EMT certification or higher for a minimum of 1 year

  • Experience working in diverse educational environments

Physical Demand/Requirements:

Duties performed in a school setting. Must be able to respond to the unique educational, behavioral, and developmental needs of students with disabilities. Daily personal and close contact with children to provide classroom management and learning environment support is required.
