Job description

  1. Conform to all requirements pertaining to full-time status.

  2. Be scheduled to work at least forty (40) hours per week.

  3. Successfully complete their ninety day (90) days probationary period.

The following, by job title, are the requirements, and qualifications for employment:

EMT

You Must:

1. Be a high school graduate or have obtained a GED.

2. Possess a current PA State EMT certification that is not under suspension

3. Possess a current CPR certification

4. Possess a current unencumbered PA driver’s license.

5. Be certified in Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC), curriculum must be approved by the PA Dept. of Health.

7. Be able to pass a post employment offer physical examination.

9. Have tact and sympathy, as well as a willingness, to assist patients with a variety of illnesses.

10. Have the ability to express oneself verbally and in writing.

11. Have an appearance and standard of conduct that enhances the position.

12. Have 20/20 vision in both eyes or be capable of correction to 20/20 by use of corrective measures.

13. Have hearing within a range, which will permit the auscultation of blood

pressures, lung sounds, heart tones and bowel sounds as well as hearing radio communications.

Company Description

John Carroll Area Ambulance Service (JCAAS) provides both Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support services to Carrolltown Borough and East/West Carroll and Allegheny Townships. JCAAS is staffed twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week by Paramedics and EMTs.

JCAAS transports patients to the facility of their choice or the closest appropriate facility in certain emergency circumstances. JCAAS provides emergent and non-emergent care to the sick and the injured.

JCAAS provides services to other areas in addition to those stated above when assistance is requested. Those areas include communities in Cambria, Blair, Clearfield, and Indiana Counties.
