Job description

Harney District Hospital is seeking an EMT to join their EMS Team. This person will be responsible for pre-hospital care and transportation of injured or sick persons to a medical facility. They must also be able to operate an emergency medical vehicle in a safe manner and perform other duties inline with the department's mission. Our EMT's work 3 24 hour shifts and have 6 days off. This position is eligible for our full-time benefit package including medical, dental, & vision. Up to 200 hours of PTO per year, life insurance & generous retirement plans.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to a high school education supplemented with additional specialized emergency medical training, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES:

Possession of or ability to obtain at time of appointment the following:

  • Emergency Medical Technician License issued by the State of Oregon.
  • AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certificate.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Diploma copy or official transcript of highest academic achievement in order to meet the requirements mandated by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988.

Possession of or ability to obtain within six (6) months of appointment the following:

  • Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent.
  • State of Oregon approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course completion of equivalent.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Possession of BTLS, PHTLS, or equivalent at time of hire. Previous emergency medical experience in a hospital environment.
