Job description

Join the TK Health team providing patient care where the need is highest. We are a correctional, healthcare provider with a regional focus on our clinics in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin Jails and Detention Centers. Our team oversees the day-to-day healthcare operations in facilities with inmate populations ranging from 25 to nearly 2,000 inmates. Our medical staff are afforded the opportunity to utilize their medical skills to their fullest capacity in a safe, secure, and unconventional environment.

Location: Pulaski County Jail, Little Rock AR

Job Description: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

  • PRN (must be available to work nights)
  • Vaccines not mandatory

Under the supervision of the physician, the EMT performs medical screening during the booking process in accordance with policies and procedures, current standards of practice and care and applicable state/federal regulations. Monitors patients and report changes in condition or vital signs.

  • Performs vital signs
  • Completes the Intake Screening in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable standards
  • Observes, records and reports to the Nurse symptoms and conditions related to the patient
  • Routinely inspects, cleans and monitors equipment and supplies. Reports any equipment or supply issues for correction or repair.
  • Obtains, records and reports vital signs
  • Demonstrates awareness of proper infection control practice by using Universal Precautions and following policies and procedures.
  • Communicates to patients, staff and others in accurate and factual manner and seeks clarification from or refers questions to Nurse when indicated
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team, and correctional staff in coordination of the patient's care
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician in accordance with state regulations
    • Current CPR certification
