Position Summary
This is a part-time teaching position with a maximum of 19 hours per week possible. This position has responsibility for planning, preparation, and presentation of quality instruction and for otherwise contributing to the fulfillment of the college's mission. This position reports to the Program Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for instruction in the appropriate teaching environment(s) and evaluation of student learning.
2. Responsible for class and laboratory preparation.
3. Participate in curriculum development and evaluation and recommend new or revised curriculum.
4. Provide academic advising to students.
5. Perform division/program responsibilities, including assistance with the accreditation process.
6. Perform institutional responsibilities which contribute to the fulfillment of the College's mission.
7. Follow institutional policies and procedures and fulfill the terms of one's employment.
Qualifications
1. Associate's degree or higher degree in EMS or a related field is required
2. A minimum of three (3) years of EMS experience as a licensed Paramedic required
3. Currently licensed Paramedic by the Alabama Department of Public Health Office of EMS required

1. Current knowledge in one's areas(s) of responsibility
2. A commitment to teaching and to helping students, an abiding interest in their field, and desire to help the college maintain the standards appropriate to an institution of higher education
3. Ability to maintain rapport with colleagues and students and to conduct themselves with a high level of professionalism

Compensation is based on 19 hours per week. If not indicated, the hourly rate will be determined by the supervisor.
