Job description

Overview

USA Health is Transforming Medicine along the Gulf Coast to care for the unique needs of our community. Our team of doctors, advanced care providers, nurses, therapists, and researchers provides the region's most advanced medicine at multiple facilities, campuses, clinics, and classrooms. We offer patients convenient access to innovative treatments and advancements that improve the health and overall well-being of our community.


Responsibilities
  • Serves as account manager and writer for designated business units within USA Health.
  • Expertise in creating and executing data-driven marketing strategies that drive patient acquisition and growth for key service lines
  • Develops and promotes newsworthy activities, and responds to news media inquiries within assigned units
  • Publicizes assigned unit activities in corresponding publications
  • Provides counsel and content for USA Health and university media
  • Coordinates with development officers for assigned areas to publicize institutional philanthropic efforts and to assist with communication materials associated with institutional philanthropic efforts
  • Must possess strong writing and communication skills, the ability to work well with others in an onsite office setting, the ability to meet weekly deadlines with demonstrated success in seeing projects through from start to completion.
  • Should provide at least three writing samples of published work to include news releases, feature stories or other forms of written communication that demonstrate an ability to synthesize then summarize larger pieces of information.
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field and 5 years of experience in marketing, journalism, communications or public relations. Required
  • Exceptional written communications skills & demonstrated ability to plan & produce compelling communications campaigns across multiple platforms, including print, online, e-news & social media. Must be able to communicate effectively w/ diverse students, faculty, staff & community. Ability to maintain working relationships with target audience & general public. Required
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
