UCCA is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare nutritious family-style meals for children and staff in our Head Start and Early Head Start programs while maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
Starting Rate: Up to $13.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30am-2:30pm (40 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
  • Assist with food inventory and supply organization
  • Follow CACFP and program nutrition guidelines
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Support a positive dining experience for children
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Six months to one year of related food service experience preferred
  • Serve Safe Certification required within six months of employment
  • Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for extended periods, operate kitchen equipment safely, lift food and kitchen supplies up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
