Job description

Avidd Community Services of New Jersey, Inc proudly serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Bergen, Morris, Warren and Somerset Counties. Our residential and community-based programs are designed to foster independence, build life skills, and support individuals in leading meaningful, self-directed lives.
Supportive Employment Morris/Somerset- Supportive Employment Morris/ Somerset
Hours: 20 hours- Flexible schedule.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct employment support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Manages a caseload of individuals with I/DD seeking employment opportunities and performs pre-placement, intensive job coaching and long-term follow-along tasks for assigned individuals.
  • Provide career planning, including resume building and job readiness skills.
  • Provide prevocational training, including job shadowing and work-readiness activities.
  • Develop individualized employment plans tailored to each client’s skills, interests, and goals.
  • Assist clients with job searching, interviewing, and onboarding processes through effective mentoring and coaching.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients in the workplace, addressing challenges and facilitating successful integration.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of client progress, employment outcomes, and support activities.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum associate degree in Human Services related field from an accredited college.
  • Three years experience working with the DDD population.
  • Bogg Center Employee Specialist Foundation Training is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Understanding of DVRS services.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, and employers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
