Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support our NASA Business Area in driving the successful pursuit and execution of key initiatives across our growing NASA portfolio.

The Deputy Program Manager will play a critical role in supporting and helping execute a comprehensive solution that integrates and manages a 24x7 Service Desk, advanced AI-enabled tools, efficient on-site deskside support, a PC-as-a-Service hardware model, and complementary engineering, cybersecurity, and IT Service Management (ITSM) development resources.

As a Deputy Program Manager, you will partner closely with the Program Manager, internal/external teams, NASA customer leadership, technical teams, projects managers, engineering organizations to provide operational discipline, thoughtful analysis, and steady leadership. You will also assist with account management activities for NASA, focusing on business growth, customer relationship management, and high-quality service delivery. This position will provide expertise to ensure solutions and execution remain aligned with future enterprise IT service delivery standards and best industry practices in planning, implementation, and innovation.

The successful candidate will be an experienced program management professional with prior support to NASA and a proven track record supporting projects with similar operational complexity. The candidate must demonstrate success in personnel support, positive customer relationships, and service delivery excellence, with a focus on innovation and customer experience. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent work streams.

In this Deputy Program Manager role, you will support execution of GDIT's strategic initiatives and help ensure compliance with Federal and NASA requirements. This position requires a motivated leader who can navigate complex challenges, execute tasks effectively, and build trusted relationships with internal teams and customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

  • Support the Program Manager in building and nurturing trust with customers through consistent, high-quality execution.
  • Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders and help ensure expectations are clearly set and managed.
  • Serve as a supporting point of contact for internal teams and the customer, ensuring alignment on goals, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Act on behalf of the Program Manager when needed and maintain continuity of program execution.

Strategic Leadership

  • Assist in executing GDIT's strategic imperatives focused on NASA standards and the NASA Community.
  • Apply a Consultant Mindset by helping identify challenges, proposing actionable solutions, and encouraging continuous improvements.
  • Support customer experience efforts by engaging with users and contributing to value-driven results aligned with customer expectations.
  • Help lead IT managers, technical leads, vendors and cross-functional teams.

Project and Task Management

  • Help develop, maintain, and oversee project schedules to ensure timely delivery of tasks and milestones.
  • Coordinate and allocate tasks among development and operations team members according to project and contract requirements.
  • Anticipate and help resolve potential roadblocks, adjusting plans in collaboration with the Program Manager.
  • Identify technical and organizational risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate issues appropriately.

Performance and Quality Oversight

  • Ensure project deliverables meet required quality standards and comply with regulatory guidelines.
  • Track program data and assist in reporting metrics, providing insights to enhance performance and efficiency using Configuration Management/Change Control, Risk and Opportunity Management, Earned Value/Cost Management.
  • Ensure compliance with NASA policies, security requirements, configuration/change management, and program controls.

Please Note:

  • This role will be remote until the contract is awarded, then will switch to on-site.
  • Candidates must reside in the Los Angeles, CA area. No relocation assistance will be provided.
  • The anticipated start date for this role is January 2028.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) combined years of deputy program or project management experience.
  • Experience supporting the NASA environment, customers, and solution development tailored to NASA mission needs.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders and support meetings and technical discussions independently.
  • Proven experience supporting customer relationship management.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting remote teams, including coordination and performance management activities.
  • Experience with schedule creation, timeline tracking, deliverables management, metrics reporting, demonstrations, and virtual training.
  • Demonstrated experience driving performance excellence and adapting new technologies to improve service delivery.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

The likely salary range for this position is $128,039 - $173,229. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee's date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
