Job description

Benefits & Employee Experience Manager

For more than 35 years, MMT Ambulance has been putting Medicine in Motion through reliable patient transportation services for leading healthcare organizations. As we continue to grow, we're seeking a Benefits & Employee Experience Manager to lead benefits administration, employee wellbeing, recognition, and engagement programs across our multi-state workforce, partnering with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver a best-on-class employee experience.

Location: Remote (Preferred locations: Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Illinois)
Travel: Approximately 10%
Reports To: Chief Human Resources Officer

What You'll Do

  • Lead the administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, wellness, and voluntary benefits.
  • Own open enrollment planning and execution, including communications, employee education, system readiness, and post-enrollment support.
  • Manage employee eligibility, enrollments, life events, escalations, and benefit-related inquiries.
  • Develop clear, employee-friendly benefits resources and communication materials.
  • Build and manage relationships with brokers, carriers, wellness providers, and recognition partners.
  • Conduct monthly benefits audits and reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with Payroll and internal stakeholders to ensure benefit deductions and eligibility data remain accurate and timely.
  • Lead service award, recognition, wellbeing, and employee experience initiatives that drive engagement and retention.
  • Support organizational growth and acquisitions through benefits integration and employee communication planning.
  • Analyze employee feedback, participation trends, and utilization data to recommend program enhancements.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Benefits Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration, total rewards, HR operations, employee experience, or vendor management.
  • Experience administering benefits for a multi-state workforce.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits administration systems and vendor platforms; Paycom experience preferred.
  • Ability to translate complex benefits information into clear, engaging employee communications.
  • Proven project management skills with experience leading programs such as open enrollment, recognition, service awards, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with employees, leaders, vendors, brokers, and carriers.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information.
