Salary Range:
$65,545–$75,375

POSITION PURPOSE
The People Engagement & Experience Coordinator fosters a positive and connected workplace culture by coordinating employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, recognition programs, events, community involvement, and employee-facing marketing. This role connects employees, departments, leadership, and the community while supporting People Operations initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, detail-oriented, process-driven, and energized by working with people.
 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
 Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Coordinate employee engagement programs, activities, recognition initiatives, awards, giveaways, celebrations, and wellness events.
  • Reestablish, chair, and facilitate the Employee Engagement Committee using the established charter.
  • Plan committee meetings, encourage participation, and align activities with Umpqua Health goals and community initiatives.
  • Coordinate the PTO donation process.
  • Support onboarding and employee experience initiatives that strengthen retention and workplace culture.
     Communications & Marketing
  • Manage internal announcements, newsletters, engagement campaigns, and People Operations SharePoint pages.
  • Create flyers, graphics, photographs, videos, employee spotlights, and culture-related content.
  • Promote internal events, job opportunities, employee initiatives, and organizational campaigns.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and the Workforce Development Coordinator to create training content for UH University.
  • Create social media content and coordinate distribution with Corporate Relations.

Community Engagement & Events

  • Coordinate employee ambassadors and participation in community events, fundraisers, banquets, volunteer activities, and outreach.
  • Promote involvement opportunities and ensure employees have appropriate branded materials and swag.
  • Document community events and highlight Umpqua Health’s support throughout Douglas County.
  • Plan and execute events, including timelines, budgets, vendors, materials, logistics, and communications.
  • Coordinate branded materials for provider relations, onboarding, recruitment, departmental initiatives, and events.
     Swag, Branding & Administrative Support
  • Manage swag inventory, ordering, distribution, storage, and budget tracking.
  • Ensure branded materials are current, organized, and available for internal and external events.
  • Provide backup support for onboarding, performance evaluations, and other People Operations functions.
  • Maintain project plans, records, timelines, and post-event evaluations.
  • Identify process improvements and perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree, project management certification, equivalent professional experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Two to five years of experience in employee engagement, communications, marketing, event planning, community relations, human resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain appropriate automobile insurance.
  • Must not be suspended, excluded, or debarred from participating in federal healthcare programs, including Medicare and Medicaid.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, event management, human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • Bilingual or translation capabilities are a plus.
