Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of clients experiencing mood disorders, including assessing the intensity and duration of their symptoms.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that align with clients' individual goals, preferences, and overall mental health needs.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for effective treatment outcomes.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and self-care practices to enhance their understanding and coping skills.
  • Monitor client progress and modify treatment strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated, team-based care.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to enhance the quality of care provided to clients.
  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential records per legal and ethical guidelines to ensure compliance and client safety.
  • Engage actively in supervision, peer feedback sessions, and ongoing professional development to refine therapeutic skills.
  • Advocate for client needs, addressing mental health stigma and working to ensure they receive adequate support and services.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As an LMFT with Empathetic Therapy Services, you will primarily work with individuals experiencing mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, you may encounter clients from marginalized communities, including those who are homeless, refugees, and domestic abuse survivors. Your ability to connect with diverse populations will be critical in providing culturally competent and empathetic care.

Qualifications
  • A current, active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong therapeutic relationships with clients through effective communication and active listening skills.
  • Empathy and a non-judgmental attitude towards clients’ life experiences and challenges are essential.
