Therapist LPHA - LPC, LCSW, LMFT (Emotional Support Center)

The ESC Therapist provides evidence-based therapeutic services while helping individuals strengthen resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and connect with community resources. This position serves clients across the continuum of care through individual counseling, brief interventions, psychoeducation, support groups, crisis intervention, wellness programming, and community outreach. The therapist collaborates with community partners and the multidisciplinary ESC team to ensure individuals receive the most appropriate level of care.

The Emotional Support Center (ESC) was established as part of Hill County's long-term recovery following the July 4th, 2025, flooding. ESC provides accessible, low-barrier emotional support and behavioral health services for individuals, families, and communities experiencing stress, grief, trauma, life transitions, or other emotional challenges.

You will get to:

  • Provide trauma-informed individual counseling for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families as appropriate.
  • Conduct behavioral health screenings, clinical assessments, safety planning, and treatment planning.
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services when indicated.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational classes, workshops, and therapeutic support groups.
  • Educates individuals on stress management, emotional regulation, resilience, grief, trauma recovery, and wellness.
  • Assist clients in identifying strengths, goals, and practical coping strategies.
  • Coordinate referrals to higher levels of care and community resources when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians, schools, first responders, disaster recovery partners, community organizations, and other behavioral health providers.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, federal, and ethical standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case consultation and team meetings.
  • Assist with development of new programming and community education initiatives.
  • Support data collection and program evaluation efforts.
  • Provide community outreach and represent the Emotional Support Center at community events.
  • Assist with walk-in emotional support services.
  • Participate in disaster behavioral health response when activated.
  • Support special events, training, wellness initiatives, and community education programs.
  • Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and stigma-free environment.
  • Assist with development of educational materials and therapeutic resources.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Emotional Support Center throughout the community.
  • Maintain professional licensure and continuing education requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You'll definitely need:

  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, behavioral or human services, or a related degree with the ability to credential as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
  • Current LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or Psychologist license; LPC Associates and LMSWs may be considered ,with supervision.
  • Maintain valid Texas state Driver's License and auto insurance.
  • Complete and maintain both CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training within the first 3 months of employment.

Preferred:

  • Advanced expertise in trauma, grief, crisis intervention, and/or disaster behavioral health
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Experience facilitating psychoeducational and therapeutic groups.
  • Community behavioral health experience
