Solidus applies a technically rigorous, capital-disciplined approach to mine development, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship, operational safety, and community engagement.
The Spring Valley Gold Project is located in the prolific Humboldt Range, an area with approximately 60 million ounces of gold endowment within a 50-mile radius. Envisioned as a long-life, low-cost open-pit, heap-leach operation, Spring Valley has a robust resource base and considerable exploration upside along a 7-mile strike length across the Black Ridge fault zone.
With a leadership team experienced in engineering, permitting, and large-scale project execution, Solidus Resources is advancing Spring Valley through feasibility, permitting, and construction, with a clear path toward operational readiness. The company's goal is to responsibly unlock the value of U.S.-based gold assets while building a reputation for excellence in project delivery and sustainable development.
This position is located on-site at our mine in Lovelock, NV.
The Emergency Response Coordinator oversees site emergency preparedness, ERT staffing and training, equipment readiness, and the Emergency Response Plan. The role also supports incident investigations, safety training, and corrective actions while promoting a strong, proactive safety culture.
Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Emergency Response Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following:
Under the guidance of the Health & Safety Manager:
• Coordinates regular and specialized training for the Spring Valley Emergency Response Team (ERT).
• Recruits ERT members to adequately cover emergency response needs on all shifts.
• Coordinates Emergency Medical Responder, CPR, and first aid training for site personnel.
• Strategically plans annual emergency response training activities, equipment needs, and maintenance needs.
• Proposes an annual budget for overall mine rescue activities and needs.
• Maintains the site Emergency Response Plan, emergency equipment, and ERT member certifications.
• Coordinates the planning and administration of Safety & Health training programs and special projects.
• Assists in investigations into mine site injuries and incidents, using standard analytical techniques to find root causes
• Prepares technical reports, maintains safety related documentation, and performs analysis of incident data for trends and recommends corrective actions.
• Takes active "modeling" approach to Safety and risk management, in ensuring the health and safety of all mine site personnel
• Performs job responsibilities in accordance with all regulatory agencies and Spring Valley Mining Company policies, procedures and goals.
• Contributes to a healthy safety culture through participation and development of safety processes
• Facilitates safety meetings, annual refresher training, emergency response training, etc.
• Completes other tasks assigned.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in health and safety, with 5+ years of emergency response experience required
• Previous experience leading and managing an emergency response team; mine rescue experience preferred
• Experience coordinating health and safety programs, initiatives, or training
• Previous experience in EMS, firefighting, paramedicine/medical response, or a related field considered an asset
• Previous EMS and/or ERT leadership experience required
• Prior experience with MSHA regulations preferred
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with a results-focused approach required
• Strong, positive, and effective English communication skills, including group presentation skills, essential
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel required
• Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities and objectives required
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with regulatory agencies required
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
• Well-established safe work history required
The pay range for this role is:
100,000 - 120,000 USD per year (US)
