The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony (RSIC) is a federally recognized tribal government dedicated to the economic and social advancement of its people. Experience working with volunteers and emergency operations is desirable. Additionally, the role requires the capability to develop and deliver training programs to RSIC staff, LEPC, and the community on emergency-related topics. A valid Nevada Driverโ€™s License is mandatory, and applicants must qualify under RSICโ€™s motor vehicle insurance carrier.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Must have current CPR basic certification and be a CPR certified instructor or be able to obtain instructor certification within two years of date of hire.
  • Experience in emergency management activities with one year in a responsible administrative position and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite for example, word, excel, power point etc. Previous experience with working with volunteers and emergency operations is desired.
  • Ability to work within team concept with employees and community.
  • Strong communication skills: both orally and written.
  • Ability to develop and provide training to RSIC staff LEPC and community on emergency related topics. Must obtain Instructor and HSPEEP certifications within two years of date of hire.
  • Must have a valid Nevada Driverโ€™s License. Must qualify under RSIC motor vehicle insurance carrier.
