Position Summary
Dana Safety Supply is seeking a detail-oriented Emergency Vehicle Technician/Installer & Ballistic Glass to join our growing team. This role is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of ballistic glass in various settings, including but not limited to law enforcement vehicles, emergency response vehicles, and other vehicles that require enhanced security measures. It is also responsible for the professional installation, integration, and maintenance of high-tech 12-volt equipment in law enforcement, public safety, and federal vehicles. We provide industry-specific training for candidates with a strong foundational knowledge of automotive or marine electronics.
Primary Responsibilities
โ€ข Proven experience in ballistic glass installation and emergency vehicle equipment
โ€ข Installation & Integration: Professionally install 12v electrical components including light bars, sirens, flashers, in-car video systems, and radio communications.
โ€ข Technical Assembly: Mount and secure vehicle hardware such as transport partitions, consoles, equipment racks, laptops, and printers.
โ€ข Networking & Comms: Install and configure antennas, routers, and GPS systems.
โ€ข Quality Control: Test, troubleshoot, and repair 12v circuits and equipment to ensure 100% functionality and safety compliance.
Required Qualifications
โ€ข Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of vehicle wiring and the ability to identify/troubleshoot electrical circuits.
โ€ข Experience: Minimum of 2 years of automotive or marine 12v experience is preferred (but not required for the right candidate).
โ€ข Physical Dexterity: Ability to work with small objects, distinguish colors for wiring, and maintain high attention to detail. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand for extended periods; walk; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch; reach overhead and below shoulder level; Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s); stoop, maneuver into / out of tight spaces, speak and the ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
โ€ข Professionalism: Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with team members.
โ€ข Certifications: Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification desired but not required
Employment Requirements
โ€ข Must possess a valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
โ€ข Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
