What You Will Do

Chomps is one of the fastest-growing brands in the better-for-you snacking space, and we're looking for a National Account Manager to own and grow our Walmart business. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of sales strategy, retail execution, and cross-functional partnership. You will be the day-to-day owner of Walmart D82/D92 and Lidl, while supporting D95, with direct accountability for revenue targets, distribution growth, and the health of one of our most important retail relationships. Walmart experience and fluency with Retail Link and/or Scintilla is required.

Responsibilities

  • Account Ownership
    • Own Walmart D82/Front End, Walmart D92/Gluten Free & Lidl; support Walmart D95/Meat Snacks
    • Deliver on gross & net sales targets in partnership with Director, Walmart & Sr. Director, Mass/Specialty
    • Drive new product/category distribution initiatives and deliver distribution, shelf management, pricing, and promotional objectives
    • Support Walmart customer strategy & new business opportunities
    • Co-own line reviews: preparation and presentation
    • Co-own QBRs in preparation and presentation with Mass/Specialty team
    • Stage Gate – sales owner of Walmart D82/D92 projections from ideation to execution
    • Regular visits to Bentonville, AR to build buyer relationships in-person
  • Forecasting & Financial Management
    • Own inputs to internal forecast system (Vividly) & monthly forecast review
    • Own Walmart & Lidl monthly pacing tracker on gross sales
    • Sales forecast: monthly reviews & account planning
    • Trade spend & sales expense management
    • Own PO execution
    • Opportunity to learn & contribute to P&L & Month-End-Close workflows
  • Customer Operations & Retail Link
    • Manage item catalogue & setup, eComm assortment strategy, and Retail Link site admin
    • Own replenishment management and manage Chomps' consolidator partner for the Walmart business
    • Monitor customer forecast & proactively communicate updates; own SSO form submission
    • Item 360: new item setup and ongoing maintenance
    • FixIt Ticket support; deduction & spoils management support
    • Any required customer-specific paperwork
  • Analytics
    • Co-own weekly recap emails
    • Analyze consumption & distributor data to identify headwinds and opportunities
    • Track category trends and competitive activity (Scintilla Charter & SPINS)
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Business Analytics Team on forecast
    • Partner with Omni Marketing & eComm teams on Walmart Connect & Scintilla opportunities
    • Partner with Accounts Receivable on Deduction & Spoils management support
    • Lead cross-functional collaboration on Walmart
    • Co-own the weekly internal recap and own the weekly recap to buyers

Who You Are

  • A subject matter expert who drives cross-functional execution with shared outcomes — you own it
  • 5+ years of experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry
  • At least 3 years of experience working with Walmart
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and relationship building skills! This person can start conversations with anyone and create a positive association with Chomps brand
  • Very strong team player, ability to work with cross-functional teams to get results
  • Able to define clear work flows & next steps to achieve our team's KPIs, and hold yourself and partners accountable to high-quality, timely delivery of goals & quickly course correct when performance risks emerge
  • High EQ with an ability to flex your communication and collaboration style across teams, buyers, and internal
  • Experience in a start-up environment preferred
  • Experience in sales planning, trade management and forecasting
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced, high demand environment
  • Self-sufficient and highly detailed oriented
  • Passion for natural and organic products
  • Ability to travel for trade shows, sales calls, and meetings - approximately 25% - 35% of time
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Data-driven with strong analytical skills; hands-on experience with SPINS, Nielsen, Numerator, and Walmart's Scintilla Charter — able to independently explain trends, build conclusions, and translate insights into action
  • Experience with Walmart's Retail Link portal (Item360, FixIt, SSO) is desired
  • Have worked with trade management and demand planning software

Salary Range Opportunity:

  • The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 + 20% annual bonus

Compensation Philosophy & Total Comp:

  • Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry
  • Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company
  • In addition to base salary, full-time team members receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K 6% match, and monthly reimbursements for wellness and home office.
