What We're Looking For:

Emerald Research Group is seeking a Vice President to lead and grow a portfolio of Consumer & Productivity /Cloud & Industry clients while shaping the future of our research, consulting, and client experience capabilities. This role combines strategic client leadership, business growth, organizational leadership, and research innovation to drive meaningful impact for both clients and Emerald. 

The VP serves as a senior strategic advisor to executive client stakeholders and is responsible for developing long-term partnerships, expanding business opportunities, and ensuring excellence across complex qualitative, quantitative, and behavioral research engagements. This leader will oversee and develop high-performing teams, contribute to organizational strategy, and help evolve Emerald's methodologies, operations, and market positioning. 

This role is ideal for a research and insights leader who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is energized by building teams, growing client relationships, and driving innovation in customer understanding in the cloud and enterprise technology sector. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

Client & Business Leadership 

  • Own and grow a portfolio of technology sector client relationships, ensuring long-term partnership success, client satisfaction, and revenue growth. 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior and executive-level client stakeholders, bringing strategic perspective beyond individual research engagements. 

  • Identify and drive new business opportunities, account expansion strategies, and cross-functional partnerships that contribute to Emerald's growth objectives. 

  • Lead complex client engagements across qualitative, quantitative, and behavioral research methodologies, ensuring high-impact outcomes and exceptional client experiences. 

  • Partner with senior leadership on business planning, forecasting, revenue management, and strategic growth initiatives. 

  • Represent Emerald externally through thought leadership, industry engagement, and strategic client-facing opportunities. 

Research & Practice Leadership 

  • Set and evolve standards for research quality, innovation, storytelling, and client delivery across teams and accounts. 

  • Guide the development of new methodologies, tools, operational processes, and service offerings that strengthen Emerald's market position and capabilities. 

  • Demonstrate deep proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the ability to guide clients, teams, and leadership through all phases of research design, execution, and analysis. 

  • Identify, evaluate, and advocate for emerging AI methodologies and tools that drive operational efficiency, accelerate time to insight, and support revenue optimization across Emerald. 

  • Oversee strategic research design and ensure teams deliver actionable insights that influence business, product, marketing, and go-to-market decisions. 

  • Champion advanced storytelling and data visualization approaches that translate complex findings into compelling business narratives. 

  • Evaluate emerging trends, technologies, vendors, and market opportunities to continuously strengthen Emerald's offerings and operational effectiveness. 

Organizational and Team Leadership 

  • Play a key leadership role in shaping Emerald's culture, driving standards of quality, strategic thinking, and professional excellence across the organization 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing research leaders and teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and growth. 

  • Build organizational capability through leadership development, coaching, knowledge sharing, and scalable team processes. 

  • Drive operational excellence across teams, including resource planning, delivery quality, process optimization, and financial performance. 

  • Partner cross-functionally with leadership teams to shape organizational priorities, improve ways of working, and support long-term business objectives. 

  • Contribute to the development of company policies, talent strategies, and organizational standards that support Emerald's continued growth and culture.

Must Haves (Requirements):

  • 8+ years of experience in market research, insights, consulting, or related strategic research environments. 

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale client relationships, business growth initiatives, and high-performing teams. 

  • Deep expertise across qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, insight development, and strategic storytelling. 

  • Strong understanding of cloud, enterprise technology, digital transformation, or related industry ecosystems. 

  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. 

  • Experience managing complex business portfolios, revenue targets, and organizational initiatives. 

  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive operational and strategic outcomes. 

  • Passion for mentorship, innovation, and building collaborative team cultures.

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, this role follows a market-based compensation framework. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and geographic location. 

The anticipated base salary ranges by geographic zone are:

Zone 1 $180,000 - $200,000

Zone 2 $160,000 - $180,000

Zone 3 $140,000 - $160,000

In addition to medical, dental and vision coverage, we offer a generous PTO plan, 401k program, comprehensive family planning benefits (including paid parental leave), tuition reimbursement, and pre-tax commuter benefits. Benefits/perks may vary depending on the nature of your employment and the location where you work.
