Your Role:

At EMD Electronics, the Maintenance Mechanic will support production and quality goals by ensuring safe and reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs onrotating equipment to include pumps, reciprocating compressors, agitators, gear boxes, and process refrigeration systems.
  • Perform basic building maintenance throughout the site.
  • Utilize diagrams, sketches, OEM manuals, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions.
  • Effectively communicate job status, document job activities and observations.
  • Accurately perform inventory transactions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with site procedures and safety programs.
  • Day-shift position but includes opportunity for scheduled and emergency overtime on nights and weekends. Transition to a rotating shift possible.

Physical Attributes:

  • Work in confined spaces and at heights of 60 feet
  • Use of hand and power tools including precision measuring instruments
  • Operate fork lift and/or aerial work platforms

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ yearsprevious industrial maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade School certificate OR participation in a union mechanical apprenticeship program
  • Prior experience with safety work permits and lock-out / tag-out procedures
  • Prior process chemical plant experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of basic electricity
  • Fundamental knowledge of Mill, Drill, and Lathe Operations including understanding of Dimension, Tolerance, and Fit
  • Experience with rolling Element & Journal bearing replacement & maintenance, Static & Dynamic Seal maintenance, and Couplings, Drives & Alignment
  • Proficiency with Oxy-Acetylene Torches
  • Pipe Fitting experience including functional knowledge of materials, fittings, and threading
  • Computer skills to review and record maintenance history in work orders

Pay Rate for this position: $35.15

Employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement will be governed by the terms of the most recent union contract.
