TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Diem Substitute for the 2026-2027 School Year
STARTING DATE: As Needs Present
SALARY RANGE: $24.67 per hour or $185 per day
Do you have experience in one of the Career and Technical fields listed below? Are you looking to give back to your industry and community by working with students who represent the future workforce? Look no further! We are looking for motivated and energetic people to serve as substitute teachers. Check out the duties and qualifications below:
DUTIES:
1. Follow lessons provided by the regular teacher to engage students in learning.
2. Engage high school students in various career and technical education programs.
3. Manage the classroom by encouraging student participation and maintain a positive learning environment.
4. Maintain appropriate records including attendance.
5. Communicate effectively with administration and other school staff regarding student needs and progress.
6. Perform other duties, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. NYS Certification preferred but not required.
2. Work experience in one the following Career and Technical fields preferred but not required:
Construction Trades (Carpentry and Electrical)
Culinary Arts
Criminal Justice
Cosmetology
Education Careers
Health Care
Information Technology
Automotive
Welding
3. Experience working with high school aged students preferred.
4. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
5. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
