EMC Mechanical Services is searching for a commercial Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our Construction division! The Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible for installing the sheet metal and duct for a project. This position needs to be able to read and understand drawings and scale, as well as being able to draw up duct. In addition to the installation of metal, this position is also responsible for utilizing and teaching any apprentices or helpers who have been assigned to assist them.

What You'll Do:
  • Install all sheet metal and duct work.
  • Oversee a three-man crew productively.
  • Assist Welders, Plumbers, and other trades when not installing.
  • Train apprentices and helpers.

What You'll Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Some technical experience or technical school is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial sheet metal work is preferred.
  • Currently owns a personal set of tools required for the trade or willing to obtain upon hire.
  • Productive time management skills.
  • Able to work irregular and extended hours as dictated by current projects.
  • Driving Requirements
    • Must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
    • Must have positive points on state driving record.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
    • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
    • All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
