What is an embryologist?

An embryologist is a specialized scientist who studies and works with the development of embryos, particularly in the context of assisted reproductive technologies like in vitro fertilization (IVF). In the United States, embryologists are responsible for handling eggs, sperm, and embryos in the lab, performing procedures such as fertilization, embryo culture, and cryopreservation.
