Job Overview

PlanetArt is looking for a Maintenance Technician to support the company's Maintenance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all facility equipment in the production area.

Extended hours include scheduled 10- and 12-hour days as well as scheduled weekend hours during all peak periods. May be required to transfer to 2nd shift during peak periods. 
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be local to or willing to relocate to the Woodridge area.

Some duties will extend to include exterior maintenance of the facility. Production equipment includes Laser engravers, embroidery machines, ovens, presses, digital printers, conveyors, facilities, building maintenance, etc.

What You Should Have
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements

  • 3 years Proven mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills required - or any combination of education, training, or maintenance experience.
  • High School Degree required. Associate's or technical degree preferred. Facilities maintenance skills a plus
  • Experience with all mechanical aspects of production equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
  • Effective communication skills are needed, with the ability to work well with others, possess the skills necessary to monitor and follow up with procedures, be a self-starter, and be able to prioritize tasks with little supervision.
  • Experience using small hand and power tools
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Able to complete various physical tasks such as climbing ladders, lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, or bending

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with CMMS maintenance ticketing systems.
  • Mechanical training
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair
  • Maintenance and repair of conveyor systems
  • Experience repairing ink jet printers, embroidery machines, laser engravers
  • Ability to read and follow blue-prints and schematics
  • OSHA certifications or other formal safety training related to the manufacturing industry
