Job description

We are seeking great talent to help us build The DNA of tech.®
Vishay manufactures one of the world's largest portfolios of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components that are essential to innovative designs in the automotive, industrial, computing, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, and medical markets. We help the world's most in-demand technologies come to life. Every day our products touch your life and the lives of people across the world, though you likely do not know it. Come join us and help us build The DNA of tech.™
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. is a Fortune 1,000 Company listed on the NYSE (VSH). Learn more at www.Vishay.com.
We are seeking a Sr. Embedded Systems Platform Manager to define, lead, and deliver the embedded systems platform supporting mixed-signal power controller IC validation and qualification. This role owns the bench and emulation infrastructure used across the IC development lifecycle-from pre-silicon validation planning through silicon bring-up, characterization, and qualification.
This is a senior, high-visibility role with extensive interaction across Analog, Digital, FW Design, Systems Architecture, Validation, Applications, and Product Engineering to ensure platform capabilities align with IC milestones and validation coverage needs.
Job Location:
This position is located in San Jose, CA
Responsibilities
  • Platform leadership: Define and own the embedded systems platform strategy across the IC development, validation, qualification, and applications support lifecycle.
  • Establish architecture standards for emulation systems, and reusable validation collateral (hardware, firmware, scripts, and documentation).
  • Drive roadmap alignment between embedded platform capabilities and IC program milestones, balancing reuse, scalability, and time-to-lab readiness to ensure embedded platform and power boards are aligned to product variations and load test board use cases.
  • Architect bench-level test systems covering functional, parametric, and closed-loop application validation for digital power controllers.
  • Integrate and validate digital control-loop implementations of emulation platforms, correlating behavioral models against measured IC performance.
  • Drive model-to-silicon correlation by identifying and resolving discrepancies between simulation, emulation, and silicon across operating conditions and corner cases.
  • Support pre-silicon design reviews with a focus on testability, observability, debug hooks, and validation coverage.
  • Support silicon bring-up by establishing baseline electrical characterization, automation, and control-loop commissioning procedures.
  • Partner with applications and product engineering to reproduce issues, debug in the lab, and harden validation platforms for sustained use across programs..

Required Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have most of the following:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years in embedded systems, power electronics, or mixed-signal IC validation with progression to staff-level scope.
  • Hands-on digital control-loop implementation (compensation design, z-domain analysis, Type II/III or state-space approaches).
  • FPGA-based emulation or prototyping experience (VHDL/Verilog at RTL/integration level).
  • Strong instrumentation skills (oscilloscope, network analyzer, power analyzer, electronic load).
  • Bench automation experience (Python, SCPI) and disciplined lab practices for repeatable characterization.
  • Familiarity with power converter topologies (buck, boost, LLC, PSFB) and small-signal modeling.

The following experience is a plus:
  • PMBus, AVSBus, or I
2C/SPI digital power management protocol experience.
  • Mixed-signal IC characterization, product engineering, or semiconductor applications background.
  • SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or Python control library proficiency.
