Job description

Project Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.


You will design, craft, and deploy reliable embedded software for large quantity of consumer electronic products. Leo is breaking new ground with every device we design, and you will be an integral part of bringing this family of products to customers.
Key job responsibilities
Develop embedded software for Customer Terminal devices within the Project Leo system.


Participate in all phases of SDLC including requirements gathering, design, code, test, and code/test coverage.
Developing embedded software in C, C++, Rust, Python or other languages
Have experience with real-time embedded software philosophies and practices
Have expertise with Linux and/or RTOS
Review schematics, logic analyzer, and embedded software trouble-shooting techniques.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S

citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum


A day in the life
As part of our Leo Customer Terminal Software Team, you will design and implement embedded software used in the Project Leo products. You will work in a collaborative environment with teams inside and outside of Amazon. You will craft your software from requirements, designs, code, test, to product deployment.

You need to be flexible and responsive to changing priority issues.

The Leo Customer Terminal Software Team supports the devices that connect our customers to the Leo network. We provide software for both applications and the underlying Linux system.

We work hand in hand with hardware, product and operations teams to deliver a great experience for our customers.
