Position: Server Software Integration Engineer
As a Server Software Integration Engineer, you will take on a lead technical role within the product software team, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, including SoC, software, firmware, SW/FW Verification Engineering, Configuration & Release Management, in addition to regular interfaces with software product and program management. You will be responsible for the end-to-end integration of a high-performance software stack and ensuring the successful, timely transition to production for our server products.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 15 years experience in embedded software integration role
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in SW/FW engineering with focus on datacenter solutions (minimum 5 years).
  • Experience with SW/FW integration at BIOS/UEFI, BMC firmware, Operating System for x86/ARM64/RISC-V 64bit for server platforms
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and ability to clearly communicate requirements, problem statement and solutions that provide tangible SW/FW deliverables
  • Proven track record for innovating/improving/reducing challenges in integration through process refinements, tools integration and early and Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) measures

Good To Have:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven knowledge of Linux (specifically the datacenter-based distributions), Python, and C/C++.
  • Prior exposure to integration of Opensource upstream-based code bases and experience with various code licenses
  • Prior exposure to working with various Tools and Toolchains for C/C++ such as GCC, LLVM and/or ARM compatible toolchain
  • Proven skill to on software build, deployment and test failures in embedded systems
  • Strong demonstratable experience in Automation and Scripting using C, Shell/Bash, Python, Powershell, etc
  • Demonstratable ability in building new tools/applications for firmware integration and packaging not limited to firmware stitching, signing, binary object dump, binary format, segmenting sections etc.
  • Prior experience in building and integrating various firmware in various environments such as Linux VM or Runners, docker containers and/or build infrastructure such as Jenkins, GitHub actions, Gitlab CI pipelines

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Server Reference Platform SW/FW requirements traceability among all contributing cross-functional teams
  • Contributions to FW architecture and design with a focus on smooth integration and Design For Test (DFT)
  • Cross-functional coordination of all deliverables across different releases of the reference platform
  • Works with SW Verification Engineering teams to ensure that all reference platform requirements have been validated at a component, integration, functional and system level
  • Works with PDM & PGM to understand key customers' platform adoption challenges and drives to address them, in subsequent reference platform's releases.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$211,800.00 - $317,800.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
