Job description

Job Summary

I'm seeking a self-driven embedded systems designer for a state of the art Airtag-like product. The selected candidate will work in a partnership role with the company president who will provide system functionality requirements and innovative solutions to difficult low power communications problems.

Your expertise will enable the formulation of system architecture, the creation of robust firmware, and a hardware integration that insures seamless operation between embedded devices and cell phone front ends, implementing both direct communications and, later, an alternate iot layer.

Duties
  • Work as a team member to jointly determine system requirements and select suitable hardware.
  • Code for device firmware and cell phone software that will meet design requirements.
  • Code test algorithms to insure error-free functionality.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation using UML diagrams, confluence pages, and version control tools, like GitHub.
  • Participate in debugging, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Perform failure analysis of failed units to determine and implement solutions.
  • Eventually code for data storage and communications between embedded devices and cloud services.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in embedded systems development.
  • Possess or have an ability to learn the Samsung Android API, followed by the Apple iOS API.
  • Knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, Zigbee, Wi‑Fi (WAN), Bluetooth (Zigbee).
  • An ability to quickly get up to speed with new and unfamiliar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with standard embedded debugging tools.
  • Experience in a database management system such as MySQL is desired, but not required. However, the successful candidate will be ready to learn how to populate online database records between cell phone or PC front ends and a dB backend.
  • Proficiency with a development environment, such as Visual Studio.
  • Strong analysis skills combined with excellent troubleshooting capabilities.

Essentially, a software developer with proven embedded systems, communications protocols, and database experience, and an ability to work both independently and as a team player, is being sought.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
